Eat: The Disgruntled Chef

For fine European fare, head on down to The Disgruntled Chef. With a quiet outdoor area for dining, enjoy a weekend catch-up with the girls over Baked Bone Marrow (served with Persillade and Sourdough Toast), $16.

SPRMRKT, a part self-service bistro, part corner shop concept, combines shopping and dining for those seeking an alternative dining experience. Health lovers would enjoy their Carrot and Orange Soup, $7, which combines the tang of citrus in a wholesome soup.

Play: Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Laughter for the weekend, please! Snigger yourself silly with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, featuring an all-star line up of ventriloquist Heath McIvor (and his purple puppet, Randy), and Ronny Chieng just to name a few. Tickets from $46 – $69 at Sistic.

Eat: Keystone Restaurant

Tucked away in the bustling CBD district, fine dining Keystone Restaurant packs a punch with its scrumptious meals for those in need of some major luxury. We’re big fans of its five and eight-course meals ($88, $118). Must-tries include the pork belly and the Danish turbot.

Location: 11/12 Stanley St.
Time: Mon to Sat (12 noon – 3pm. 6 – 10.30pm)


Drink: Malabar Blend Coffee

The brews from The Muffinry, $4 – $6.90, use exclusive coffee beans from the South American nations of Brazil and Guatemala. Gourmet lovers will appreciate this flavour-packed creation!

Play: Annie The Musical

Everyone’s favourite red-headed orphan will be coming in town for a musical extravaganza. Starring Su Pollard and David McAllister, Annie is a story of a young girl’s optimism through adversity. Tickets from $65 – $175 at Sistic.

Time: Jul 10 – Aug 5, 7.30pm. Sat (1.30pm, 7.30pm), Sun (1pm, 5pm). No shows on Monday.

 Eat: Boomerang Bistro & Bar

Australian cuisine in all its charm: Saturday calls for some Green Curry Beef Salad, $24, at the Boomerang Bistro & Bar. We love how the succulent pieces of meat pair well with the crisp vermicelli and carrots.

Drinks: Peanut Butter & Vanilla Ice Cream Smoothie

We found the mother of all smoothies. Addiction café’s Peanut Butter and Vanilla Ice Cream Smoothie is thick, frothy and 100 percent full-flavoured. It ticks all the boxes for the drink you must get your hands on this weekend!

Play: Singapore Garden Festival

Green fingers would zero in on the Singapore Garden Festival, here for its fourth edition. Garden and floral designers alike showcase their finest florals, which are divided into six exhibition components including the Best of Show Landscape. Tickets from $5 – $38 at show venue.
